Handknitted on the Mediterranean island of Gozo, these chic and cosy scarves are a combination of soft luxurious Merino yarn and the talent of our craftswomen.
The wool is sourced from Peru where the animals graze on the open pastures of the altiplano which gives the fibre natural bulk. It is bought from the farmers and processed through to yarn before being shipped.
The colour is natural undyed white.
Using skills passed down through the generations, the ladies of the island sit and knit in their homes, courtyards and often in the streets. They pray, they chat, they watch the children whilst creating intricate arran designs with cabling and ribbing finished with a sumptuous fringe. The total length of the scarf is aprox 60 inches excluding fringes.
Each unique scarf is an interpretation of the individual knitters personality. |
